Education

In the east of the country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, distress caused by discrimination, miserable social conditions and other situations of injustice have harmful consequences on children, including the most disadvantaged children, children of poor families from urban and rural areas, street children, handicapped children, and mistreated children.

All too often they find themselves excluded from school or society, left without care or support, without psychological assistance, and this even happens within households.

Their healthy intellectual, emotional, psychological and physical development is at risk.

A child should have the possibility of realizing his or her "self," of becoming an adult who is aware and free. We all need to allow each person to acquire his or her full capacity for reflection and action. This realization will allow a child, who has become an adult, to integrate himself or herself in society, while making his or her own choices and fulfilling his or her responsibilities. We refuse the status quo. We are counting on these children to become our future.

Amicalement,

Kirsten
