who are you?

are you a person
are you an animal
or just an object
a dead man walking
or a person full of life
feeling free as a bird
or scared of your own shadow?

are you a human being
with feelings or humanity
deep within your soul
or are you as cold as ice
do you care about anybody
other than yourself
or do you put others first?

are you a shining STAR
a dime that's discovered everyday
or are you in darkness
feeling like ain't no light
in your life
do you hate or love
the person that you are?

do you wake up and feel blessed
or do you wake up and wonder why
does the sun rise
bring a smile on your face
or does it bring a frown
are you glad to be ALIVE
or do you wish you were dead?

what do you believe in
what do you stand for
do other peoples' opinion affect you
do you care what other people think
about you
when you ask yourself
"Who Am I?"
do you come up with an answer
or does your mind become blank?

ask yourself who you are and if you don't know it don't mean you lost it just means you have to go deeper to find out b'cause we all have the answers deep within us so long as we reach out for them and are willing to try.

))))))))))))))))))) THANK YOU (((((((((((((((((((

for your deep thinking probes in how we feel about ourselves.

I know there is always more to learn about myself and I 'try' to stay open to this as much as I can.

LOVE your poem XXX
