Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I have spent more than 30 years in non-commercial public broadcasting as a radio producer and reporter. I lost my job in 2009 and have been unsuccessful in continuing my professional career with the degree of success I once had. This has been quite a challenge! since work and has always been the most important part of my life. As a consequence, I am now doing more teaching and volunteer work in my community and find that giving back is renewing my sense of purpose in this lifetime.

My Passions:
Animals, animal rights, horticulture, reading, movies, vegan lifestyle and always, my friends.

My Challenges:
Being vegan and not liking to cook! And continuing my Spanish studies.

My Vision for the Future:
Less work, more learning and connecting.

My Areas of Expertise:
Journalism, broadcasting, radio production, multi-media skills, public speaking, horticulture, landscape design, dog training.

Ketzel-
I am happy to welcome you to the World Pulse community! This is a great time to become involved, as we are in the middle of choosing this years' Voices of the Future. The application process involved weeks of writing on a variety of topics, so there are an especially great amount of journal entries/stories to read through. You will find many who share your passions for animal rights and horticulture. And your experience with journalism and multi-media may very well be utilized in this community!

You may want to explore the WP site to see what is going on and ways to take action. I have found the quickest way to enter into this community is to click on the "Voices Rising" link, which is under the "PulseWire" tab near the top of the screen. From there you can easily access and read journal entries, and perhaps make a comment in reply. In order to add people to your community, click on the person's name. You will be taken to their profile, and can click on the 'add to my community' link under their photo.

We look forward to your first journal entry as well. You can write a short piece on a passion or vision, or write about an experience or situation you would like to share with fellow women. We would love to hear how you heard about WP, and what drew you to the organization. Other WP members will see your entry under the 'voices rising' tab, and can comment or reply.

Looking forward to hearing your voice!
