Family violence issues that women and girl face in DRC. In the following paragraph, I will present the situations of violence lived by women who the survived it.
- Choice of the boy for the birth
- The priorities of the boy compared to the girl as regards education
- Abusive Matter-
- Assault of the husband
- In accuracy of the spouse
- Disagreement
- Marital Rape
- Unfavorable usual Practices
- Forced Prostitution
- Unpaid Dowry
- Forced Abortion
- Husband's permission
- Forced marriage
- Preferential Marriage
- Spoliation of the widow and problematic heritage - fatal sorcery
- Deception
- Material Deprivation
- Drunkenness.
The reading points out to us that on average, a family of two; a boy instead of a girl will be chosen. The mothers only wish to give birth to boys rather than the opposite sex. ; A mother’s pride and assurance seems to be driven by this notion.
