Statement of Solidarity Against Abuse and Degradation of Non-heteronormative Bodies

Please spread widely for heavy endorsement by organizations and associations in Lebanon and across the Global South to protest the Dekwaneh Violation and a call to action to protest police violence.

Antoine Chakhtoura, Mayor of Dekwaneh, directly supervised sexual violence against trans women, arresting them, stripping them naked in his office, "checking" for their sex, and taking photos of them, not to mention sharing the photos with media outlets. This is an outrageous violation of the women's bodily rights and we must hold him responsible.
