A Letter to My Dream Daughter

Though I have not touched you, My love for you knows no bounds.
One day you will be with me in this world and we will roam around.
Whether you are adopted or born out of my womb
I swear not to discriminate you on any ground.

I will tell you stories of my defiance and desperation.
I will share my strengths, sores and passions.
You will bear no surname to identify any caste.
You will be free to follow your path and learn from the past.

I want you to grow up as a free thinking individual
and be determined to rise from the ashes if you ever fall.
I wish to be your ally and a true companion
Life brings smiles and tears- let's champion.

I will encourage you to respect the human community
With our shared bonding, compassion, empathy and equanimity.

It's time to glorify all daughters around the globe
Who are equally precious even if they lie on the dust without robe
Wild flowers blossom in the fields and yet have such splendour
Why do you distinguish them by colour, caste, religion, riches and gender?

This story was written for World Pulse’s Girls Transform the World Digital Action Campaign.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring girls greater access to education which will transform their lives, their families, and communities. The Girls Transform Campaign elicits insightful content from young women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as women, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

This poem is just beautiful! You've showered all your love to your unborn child dear Sutanuka. There's no doubt, you will be an excellent mother and mentor. I commend your love for someone who's not even born, and you have so much love and feelings for this dream child. I too believe that all women are mothers and source of inspiration at their core. I pray that you have a beautiful child as you have imagined. :)

I love all the girls/daughters all over the world. But there is another fact. Society looks down upon the women who cannot be mothers physically, and also the unmarried mothers. I wish people understand that all children biological or otherwise are equally adored. all children poor or rich are equally loved. all women married, unmarried, who can or cannot be mothers are equally respected for their self-worth.

Love and Hugs,

Sutanuka, This is a

This is a beautiful poem and it will be wonderful when one day your daughter/s can hear these words. All daughters should be treated this way and I hope more will learn to be valued for whomever they are and from wherever they come from.
