Poeme d une mere d un drepnocytaire

« Tu ne sais pas ce qui t’arrive
Seulement tu as très mal
Et tu trouves cela anormal
Que de certaines choses on te prive !
Assieds-toi, mon enfant
Et écoute maman
As-tu entendu parlé de Drépanocytose ?
Ce n’est pas la Mucoviscidose !
C’est une maladie
Qui te puise ton énergie!
Il faut boire beaucoup d’eau Surtout quand tu as bobo.
Il te manque des globules rouges
Et quand beaucoup, tu bouges
Il te manque de l’oxygène
Tout ça c’est le gène.
Tes examens, il faut les faire
Et tu dois prendre du fer
Les médecins sont tes amis
Et ta famille est très unie.
Prends tes médicaments
Toujours laves-toi les dents
Les microbes, il faut les éviter
Surtout, tu n’es pas rejeté.
La recherche avance
Le combat commence
Avec de la volonté
Tu n arrive a rien faire

You do not know what will happen to you
Only that you hurt
And you find it abnormal
That you are deprived of certain things!
Sit down, my child
And listen to Mother
Have you heard of Sickle Cell Disease?
It is not cystic fibrosis!
It is a disease
That drains your energy!
You should drink plenty of water, especially when you are active.
You lack of red blood cells
And when you move a lot
You lack oxygen
It is all genetic.
Your tests, you have to have them
And you have to take iron
Doctors are your friends
And your family is very united.
Take your medications
Always brush your teeth
The germs, we must avoid them
Most importantly, you are loved.
Looking ahead
The battle begins
With willpower
You can do anything
