Dream a bigger dream
I grew up an ordinary girl with my ordinary dreams. Neither did I believe that I should fulfill my dreams for a meaningful life. Nor did I believe that I can make the world mine. But, whenever something turned out as I had expected, it motivated me not to stop.
Now, I am a grownup, but I am still growing. Today, I dream less than in the past. More than a dreamer, I consider myself as a learner. I do not learn only from academics, but also from the real world. However, my education has helped me to see the world in different perspective. Now I am more critical about what I hear and see. I never knew that social science would be that encouraging. I never knew that my dreams would change. I never knew that I would be excited about learning about people and the society.
Globalization. Such a big word that changed the world. It has affected my country too. It's great when you see the youth in the county all going gaga about social media and fashion world. What do not you find there now? Everything has reached there. What do you want to see? Communication, fashion and environmental degradation..Well! everything that you need. But still there exist children who do not know what does an i-phone mean. Women who feels shy to look at your eyes. Girls of my age who now carries babies by their side. Those girls if had gotten equal education, they would have been competing with us.
Now I wish to see the change. I want to flourish the importance of equal education in my country because I believe it is right of every children to get education. It does not matter which gender they are, no matter which families they are from and no matter where they are from, education should be equal for everyone. I believe education is the key to end all other social problems such as gender discrimination, poverty, and violence. Voice of our Future has provided me a platform to speak for the change. It is the start of my journey as a writer for change. After joining this community, I realized that people do care about my voice. It motivates me to write and speak for those who are not heard. I thank World Pulse for providing such an opportunity to learn and share.
