Introducing myself and my journal: Sustainable Peace, Sustainable Food

About Me:
Everything I've learned in my feminist studies classes have warned me about the danger of presenting my activism as "maternal" but, let's face it, the birth of my son nearly three years ago transformed my perspectives and values. I believe firmly in the education, social rights, and indepedence of women. I am passionate about carving out sustenence, not through food aid, but by providing the land, tools, and knowledge necessary for women to grow their own food and provide for their families.

My Passions:
Music, art, food, the environment

My Challenges:
Finishing my B.A., nurturing my son, cultivating a better today

My Vision for the Future:
A place of peace and abundance for generations to come.

My Areas of Expertise:
Environmental Studies

Welcome

Perhaps there is a danger of presenting your activism as maternal but let's fact it, our maternal instincts are so inherent in who we are and gives us that wonderful ability to empathize with others. I am so happy that you have joined PulseWire where you will find women who have dared to speak out and are making connections crossing oceans, continents, and cultural barriers to change the way we live. Stories are being told, movements are being started and laws are being reformed as lives are transformed. You are now a member of this vibrant community and I look forward to reading more about your passions, ideas, concerns and dreams. I know that you will find this to be a positive experience.

Also, please take a moment to browse through our group directory (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups) where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. Or, you may consider starting your own group where you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions. With the group journal, you can brainstorm solutions, pose questions, test ideas and create a support network for your visions.

Voices, such as your own, have transformed lives and I look forward to reading more from you. Again, welcome and thank you for joining PulseWire.
