The Voices of Our Correspondent Can Teach Me Leadership Skills

I always ask myself what I really want to be in my life and particularly what can I do for the community in which I belong. Any time the idea of trying to do something for the people in my community approaches my mind; my heart starts beating vigorously with delight and inspiration. And my dreams begin to appear as transparent facts.

I am on the way to be myself and to be a leader. I want to be a leader in the midst of the world for bringing pragmatic changes. I want to be a loudspeaker for those whose voices have not been heard but muted in their hearts and in their thoughts. I close my eyes and imagine myself with crowds of people who have gathered together for bringing changes and developments.

I have come here to fulfill the desires of my mother who believed in me that I can absolutely make a change. I have come here to be a precedent for my other three sisters so that they can also confront risks and never let their dreams disappear. I have come here so that my father can believe in my self-reliance and admit that as a girl I can travel by myself and take my own responsibilities. Moreover, I have come here to discover the way for my prosperity, the way for prosperity of other girls and women in my society and thus with the other change makers for the prosperity of the universe as a whole.

Today I am among hundreds of other prosperous women at Asian University for Women who seek and share the same values and principles as mine. And that is called Leadership. My vision for my life is obvious: being a leader and motivating others to take a leadership pace. My dream and my vision for my life is to be a university professor and a woman right activist at the same time.

My way to reach my dream seems far but not impossible. I am naïve but I am also an optimistic person. I desire exploring around and learning from the experiences and skills of other women leaders and human right advocates from around the world. However, I need a mentor and a tutor who could show me the way. Without any doubt the Voices of Our Correspondent can be my mentor. It will take me to a journey of the world where I can investigate new thoughts and messages. Through the Voice of Our Correspondent I can accomplish the notion which I can later transmit to a community of change makers and change believers in my society. Today, the Voice of Our Correspondent can teach me how to raise my voice and how to say NO to silence and later this is my point for my whole community who could not find this opportunity.

From the deep of my heart I wish for being as a representative in the Voices of Our Correspondent because it is what can formulate my leadership world and designate me for bringing a change.

You wrote a beautiful piece here... It feels like the words come from heart straight to the web. I like that you have the desire to bring change in the world but also humble to know that we all need mentors and help from others in the community around you.

I think we have to keep ourselves a bit naive, a bit optimistic in order to bring change to the world.. Is like that saying: "they didn't know it was impossible. So they did it ! "

I truly believe you are on a good path here and wish you all the best.

Keep us posted your journey!

Catarina

What you feel in your heart becomes a reality if you work hard at it.I am confident that you are already well on your path to being a leader probably one already.

I wish you the best.
