Be silent no longer

It seems to me that economic issues keep most disabled women down, even in the richest countries, and feeling worthless and silent. DON"T LET THE MONEY GET YOU DOWN. Every single one of you are valuable. Like the song says, "We are beautiful, beautiful creatures." Today, a beautiful sunny day in southern Oregon, I went out on my scooter, and picked up trash on the sidewalk and surrounding areas, It didn't cost me a thing, and I felt pretty good about helping clean up the environment. Yes, some people stared; a few people even stopped their cars to see if I needed help. I learned a long time ago to be really polite to these people and thank them for their concern. We can no longer be unseen and unheard. Rise up, open your door, and go out. Let me know what you do when you go outside.

Short, Sweet, but Powerful

Hi Noreen,

Nice to meet you virtually. I really liked reading this it made me smile, and that smile crept wider into a giggle. I admire your blasé attitude to the passers-by in your home town. I'm glad it's sunny on your side of the world, it's grey on mine. But I have the sunshine all about me. Indeed, "We are beautiful, beautiful creatures." Have a great day :)

beautiful creature.

Thank you, Lortoria. There was a time when I wouldn't even look in a mirror. The sight of myself was disgusting to me. Now, however, feeling better about who I am, and realizing that am unique, life has become wondrous again.

Noreen, I believe that as you get outside, you begin to change. You are a great mum that i love just in reading you. You are so special for me!

THERESE( Maman Shujaa, Drc)

Thanks for cleaning up your neighborhood Noreen. I believe that if everyone did little things like this, our world would be a much much nicer place to be. It's staggering how bad things can get when we just let go or feel overwhelmed and do nothing.

When I'm out in my neighborhood I try to make things a little brighter by offering a smile and a friendly "Hello" to people I pass. It's surprising how few people expect it, and return it. Oh well, I'll keep at it!

Thanks for sharing here.
