Introducing myself and my journal: Older Women for the Job

pic_8495_kowloon_city_park_.JPG

About Me:
I am a 51 year old Indian woman. I was born in Burma and raised in Hong Kong and currently live in Britain. My parents are Muslims and have taught me Islam although I am not a practicing Muslim.

I understand the difficulties facing women in both developing countries and developed countries. The pressures of religion, culture and beliefs are tremendous on women.

I am a mother of 3 teenagers, two of whom are girls therefore, the idea of transforming this world for girls in the future is very close to my heart.

It has always been my passion to help people, even in the smallest way I can. My family was displaced from their home when I was very young. We came to live in a foreign country which became our home. These changes had huge impact on my life and how I think.

After assisting asylum seekers and refugees for 10 years, I committed to full-time motherhood. I did not completely stay away from assisting people. I continued to work in a job that helped families struggling financially. I hope to continue to contribute to humanity in any way I can.

The idea of World Pulse journal impresses me a lot and look forward to be actively involved and support the work that you do.
Kareema

My Passions:
making a difference where I can.

My Challenges:
Improve in the way that I think and offer my skills and experiences to help others

My Vision for the Future:
Older Women treated as people who can still contribute to society

My Areas of Expertise:
Administration, Office Management, Mentoring, Case Management
