Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am a final year Public Relations and Marketing student at Leeds Metropolitan University and the President of the African Caribbean Society.

One of my passions is travelling so far I have travelled countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa allowing me to experience other cultures and how others live.

I have a huge passion for fashion (cheesy I know but true) but an even bigger one being a little activist and trying to change the world. In my downtime I take joy in volunteering as I want to make a difference in people’s lives especially those who are less fortunate than me.

I enjoy debating, laughing, good music, poetry and all things pretty. I am a Hippy at heart and always lost in my own thoughts.

My Passions:
Inspiring and helping those less foruntate than me.

My Vision for the Future:
I want to change the world by educating people of the many issues we are facing in the world and hopefully inspire change.

My Areas of Expertise:
Public Relations

Dear fashionista!

On behalf of all wonderful WP members I also want to welcome you. You have reached an amazing place to exchange thoughts, ideas, feelings, etc. We´re really happy to have you on board. Let´s raise our voices together.

Please follow our current programs and campaigns and enjoy this great journey. I suggest you:

1- Participate in our current Digital Action Campaign on the theme "Girls Transform the World". http://worldpulse.com/campaigns/girlstransform/girls-transform-the-world...

2- To write on the topic of Maternal Health for the chance to be published in our e-magazine.

I´m happy you´re in your way to find your own voice with us! I specially loved that you're a fashionista. I'm as well and I have devoted my self to social and humanitarian causes. I don´t see why not to be a fashionista ;) My best friend also studied at Leed. She now works for the UN in Vienna.

Looking forward to getting to know you better!!!

greetings from beautiful Mexico

Hi Klaudia

Thanks for welcoming me! I can't wait to get involved and speak to fellow strong women, hopefully learn more from everyone and embark on this exciting journey!.

I will most definitely get involved in the great campaigns you have suggested.

I'm excited to see a fellow fashionista who has devoted themselves to social and humanitarian causes as people usually have the perception you can't be interested in both. They always seem so shocked when I say what I want to achieve, my interest in all these causes and wanting to change the world. Who said we can't look fabulous whilst doing so :)

Great to hear you're friend is doing so well, very impressive! Wish our paths would have crossed whilst she was in Leeds.

Greetings from windy England

Glad to have your voice

Dear Kollow91,

Welcome to the World Pulse community! I recently joined World Pulse myself and am excited to be a part of this global network of people with similar values and passions as myself. I enjoyed reading your post and think that we have a lot in common. Like me, you are very idealistic and want to have a real, positive impact in the world. You also like clothes, as do I. :) I've always loved collecting and wearing colorful, unique clothing--as I see it, that's part of making the world a brighter, happier place. It's a means of creative self-expression and one of the joys of life! I appreciate that you recognize and celebrate the "fashionista" in yourself! As my sister says, life is not a dress-rehearsal!

I look forward to reading more about you in the days to come. I'd like to share this quote with you that I read today:

"Most of us need to be reminded that we are good, that we are lovable, that we belong. If we knew just how powerfully our thoughts, words, and actions affected the hearts of those around us, we’d reach out and join hands again and again." ~ Tara Brach, True Refuge

Warmly,

Susan K.A.
