Introducing myself and my journal: Choosing to Thrive

About Me:
I am an artist, mother, educator, sometime stand-up comic and aspiring screenwriter; my first short film, "Mourning After," is being produced locally and begins filming in a couple of weeks--I will do anything to avoid housework, including taking on the responsibility of producing an all-volunteer film--something I've never done before! The story is a coming-of-age story for middle age and the process of individuation and self-acceptance for the main, female character. It's funny, but the humor comes from the awkwardness of the situations presented and the challenging of gender and age stereotypes.

Thank you!

My Passions:
Visual arts, film and filmmaking, comedy, hiking & outdoors, travel, reading

My Challenges:
Finding a way to make a difference by turning life's "lemons" into "lemonade."

My Vision for the Future:
That girls worldwide grow up without cultural limitations or fear of violence; that women achieve their full social, economic and personal potential

My Areas of Expertise:
Visual Arts, Design, Teaching
