Hello Okema!
Welcome to the community! You are now part of a thriving network of grassroots women leaders and supporters from more than 190 countries. See the Getting Started Guide to learn more about networking in our community:

I encourage you to participate in our "Girls Transform the World" digital action campaign which runs until May 10. For more information, please go to this link and click on Submit Your Story! You'll then be taken to a page with the Submission Guidelines and all the relevant information.

Your commitment to human rights in your community is very admirable and is one that I share for people all over the world! Through online platforms such as WP, women from all over the world can unite and become a powerful force for change!

I haven't been a member of WP long but I've found it to be an active, supportive community with an empowering message so I encourage you to explore the site and interact with the community.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a private message and I’ll do my best to help. To send me a private message, go to the My Pulse category, click on My Inbox, then click on Write new message and send it to turtledove100.

Again, welcome and I look forward to hearing your voice in the community!

Kind regards, Debbie

Welcome to the Family!

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." - Dr. Seuss

Hello Okema! Welcome to the family! You have joined such an amazing and empowering network that works together to promote female empowerment and eliminate violence in all facets! Together we can connect, communicate and collaborate!

First of all, there are so many amazing and inspirational women from Uganda on this website. One of them is my friend Beatrice ( who is the founder of the Rural Girl Child Mentorship Uganda program. Please check her profile out and connect with her; perhaps together you can collaborate on some wonderful ideas!

Now that you've joined the network there are a few things I'd like to encourage you to get involved in. There are a few current programs that you can get involved in to spread the word about women's health and education - as well as their empowerment. They are:
Digital Action Campaign -
Maternal Health Campaign -
Girls Transform -

These are just some of the amazing opportunities that this network has presented you with. We urge you to get involved and share your voice with us all! We look forward to reading more of your pieces!

Much love & respect xoxoxo
