Domestic Violence
In Walungu Territory in Southern Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, an 18-year-old girl was raped by her father while she slept. The girl realized it was her dad beside her when she started to sign.

The mother, who was absent because she was out working in the fields, learned this sad news and asked herself whether she should stay with her husband or leave him at a time when it would be difficult for her to raise five kids alone without income.

A girl who was burned by her mom because she got pregnant. Her mother chased her to her husband’s house where she burned the daughter. The girl was taken to the hospital where she died.
