Engaging the Force to Exhale

V-SEASON, Bringing an end to Violence

We continue to shout, to scream and dance
we are resilient and strong in the midst of adversity
until our Voices are heard, until there is significant change we refuse to stop

Culture and tradition have kept me silent, I have been trampled upon without regard
I watch my children suffer the same consequences....I must bring an end to this circle of madness
One day reality struck and I wiped the age long tears that have choked and drowned my voice for so long
Alas I was free when I opened my mouth to exhale the pain in words......

Freedom can only be achieved when we find expression in words

"The force to exhale" - what a powerful starting image.

I liked that you kept it short and didn't feel pressured to add more based on the maximum allowances. Look forward to reading more, Abby.

Beautiful

This is short and to the point. We need to encourage more of our sisters to come out and raise their voice against all these injustices that they are suffering. Thank you for sharing and continue to share these lovely stories of ours. Stay blessed my dearest.
