What is my song?

Survivors In Service

What is my song?

When have I heard it before?

Sing a song of love
Of transformation
Of community
Of self
Of family
Of new beginnings

Of letting go
Expelling all negativity

Sing a song of returning
to my woman – ness
To my female – ness

To my intuition
To my compassion
To my passion

To my courage
To my joy
To my love

To my centered – ness
To my peaceful – ness

To my quiet
To my calm

When have I heard it before?

Return to me
I can be who I am
Yes, that is the song
Yes, this is my song

Debra-
This bit of poetry is beautiful and heartening. There is clarity, power. Yet a quiet hush fell on me. There is a reflectiveness about it, so that I can see you and I can see me.

Thank you for posting this. I'm sure your words will speak to many.

I love that you have 'joy' in your screen name, as I came to realize years ago the difference between joy and happiness. Joy is a choice we can all make, even in the midst of the horror. There are many here who share your sentiment, and I'm sure they will be drawn to you.

All the best during this exciting program!

thanks

I appreciate the time you have taken to respond to my little poem...I never think of myself as a poetry author but sometimes stuff like this just flows right out of the pen onto the paper! thanks for the encouragement

our song

our song unique to us all
yet all so common to one and all
inner peace, inner turmoil
through it all, we stand tall

Inner peace is what I seen in your poem. Nice one :)
