Reach the World Via the Web

The world today is referred to as the 'jet age'. What has brought this about? Its the ability to, at the speed of course faster than a jet, pass and get information from the farthest part of the world on a connection called the 'internet'. This is the power of Web 2.0.
It has become a usual thing to at the first sign of dawn, check ones phone or computer to see the latest news and events. And of course, we know the bad ones get the widest publicity! This is the power of Web 2.0.
In my community, which is male dominated, I see a lot of women who fence the world of computers off as belonging to men. But do I agree? Of course not! I personally make it a point of duty to learn and actively participate in every new wave of technology and through this 'jet' means, propagate the gospel of the possibility of a better world free of rape and abuse of women(physically and othewise); women being intimidated by women( eg female genital mutilation). A world where women can contribute their own quota stand up for their rights and be the best they ever can be.
I believe, if we all make up our minds, that we can start, join or support a cause we find worthy through the power of Web 2.0.

we have to dominate web 2.0

well Said my dear sister. we have to ensure that women dominate web 2.0 for us to have an impact on society. Please continue to encourage the women in your society to use web 2.0 so that we are able to fight against these injustices and ensure a world free from injustices and discrimination. Continue with the good work.

indeed

Thank u Mrs Muhanguzi. As new avenues open up everyday, we should conquer them and establish a voice that would be respected and that would give hope.

Computer Internet use

Hello, thank you for sharing your ideas. I agree with you that if enough women can share their voice via the Internet and Web 2.0, that new power will be built. I like your idea that by sharing women will eventually be safer from violence and enjoy their human rights. Please keep posting and using Web 2.0 to let other women hear your voice. Share the freedom found in Web 2.0 with others.

Well said. You're very right

Well said. You're very right that women need to use the internet to bring greater awareness to the issues that matter.
