EMBRACING MY DREAM WITH WEB 2.0

I love being online because I get to learn so much, meet people, make friends and do a lot of things. That’s one of the reasons why web 2.0 excites me. I love expressing my feelings and I’m good at it like a free bird, now I feel like that opportune time has finally arrived. Before, it was through a pen and a paper and in most cases I was the only person who had access to it but now I am able to share with the whole world what I believe should be done. I am sensitive and I don't like hurting other people. I am glad that I am a changed agent because I am not afraid to express my feelings since I am empowered and I believe I have so much untapped energy which needs to be used in a positive way. Through web 2.0 I am able to connect, express myself, transform, share any information and let the world know about what I am up to instead of writing in a book and keeping it to myself. I believe there is no other better way of expressing myself than through web 2.0.
Web 2.0 unites women, as the saying goes united we stand divided we fall, through sharing; women can liberate themselves since they are able to socialize and connect. Women who never had opportunity to study and become professionals in their respective fields; some wanted to be journalists, lawyers etc but their dreams remained to be just dreams, web 2.0 has liberated them and brought empowerment right at their doorsteps. They connect and express themselves freely; creating movements which are used to spearhead various campaigns which effect positively in the community. Through these movements many lives have been touched. In Kenya there is a very painful and barbaric act which has been going on for quiet some time and is currently becoming a trend; women being stripped naked in broad daylight by men claiming that they are indecently dressed. Through web 2.0 a lady has raised this issue and tomorrow there will be a press briefing but due to unavoidable circumstances the demonstration has been cancelled, despite this the message has been shared and it is high time women stand up for what they believe in. All these would not have been possible without the availability of web 2.0. The solution web 2.0 brings to women is tremendous and no words can explain.
The greatest achievement I have made this year was joining world pulse. Despite having been a member for almost a month only, I really love this wonderful community of women with a dream, mission and vision. Through digital media I can write my articles and share with fellow ladies what is happening around the globe. I will be empowered because this training motivates me to spend my time online in a constructive manner.

Thumbs Up

Hello Gracious,

Thank you for sharing your story. Before reading your article, I never knew that there were acts in parts of Africa where women are stripped naked by men in public. It is really a degrading thing for any woman to experience. I am happy that efforts are being made through the help of web 2.0 to stop such practices.

Once again thank you for your story. I look forward to reading more of your article. I feel inspired.

Cheers,

Florence

Gracious,

Thank you so much for sharing. I am very glad that you have joined Worldpulse because it sounds like you have a lot of important things to share. I also was not aware of these acts that were taking place and it is horrible to know that such acts occur. I am glad that because of web 2.0 that this is made public and hopefully will put an end to such horrible acts! I love when you said, "I am glad that I am a changed agent because I am not afraid to express my feelings since I am empowered and I believe I have so much untapped energy which needs to be used in a positive way." I am very glad you feel empowered and are not afraid to express your feelings. I know you will touch many people and will help many change their fears to empowerment. Thanks again for sharing and I wish you the best in all you do!

Sad indeed

Ayodele emefe it's normally very degrading when such things happen. I believe women should be respected and I have never had of any group of women coming together just to undress a man even if they are not comfortable with the way a man is dressed they always mind their business, they should stop this barbaric act.

Empowerment and Web 2.0

Goodness Gracious!

I love the way you transformed your surname into your World Pulse name, Siru -- and I hear your enthusiasm about getting your word out to a wide audience. I look forward to learning the topics you will share about, and I am grateful that you joined World Pulse.

Many of us will affirm together that the next time an opportunity comes up to protest something as atrocious as disrobing a woman because a man feels she is inappropriately dressed...that nothing gets in the way.

Welcome to World Pulse -- Bravo to you,

Anna

the powers that be ....

Dear Siri-

We didn't have the power to prevent that from happening...yet...and it is my faith that by continued binding together and teaching the way of peace, love and solidarity, the tide will be turned with the magnetic moon power of our voice.

Those old forces are strong, and your safety is the first priority. Together, persistently, we will make this change .. and your courage and voice are very valuable.

May the forces of oppression come to embrace the message of mutuality and shared power to serve all.

Be blessed,

Anna
