THE WORLD AT OUR DOOR STEP

PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN A LEADERSHIP COURSE , Nkambe Cameroon

I am in a new community as it is possible for me to know what is happening at anytime any where in the world. The most exciting thing to me about Web 2.0 is connecting, information sharing, linking, watching, talking, listening, chatting with people across the globe being possible once we are connected to the internet. I have come to understand the way the information I see on the internet gets there and how they can be connected to each user of the net. It is like magic that is how I use to see it and keep imagining how people get connected and read the same information and chat with many people at a time. It’s interested to know that Web 2.0 makes it possible for people around the world to read what I put on the internet and get connect to me directly. The solutions that Web 2.0 brings to the global women’s empowerment movement are making it possible for women to work with their folks from any part of the world with out any problem. The Web 2.0 solves the problem of distance, expensive phone call, and gives women the opportunity to discuss with many at a time and within a short time. With these tools I will learn how to connect to other women and will use the tools to make the voices of women in Cameroon heard, build my capacity and that of other women and I have already connected to a woman in Nigeria. Thanks to World Pulse for the Voices of Our Future.

Distance does not matter now.

That's a very accurate of describing web 2.0.
It certainly brings the world to our doorstep. I enjoyed your post.

On another note, if this was your assignment for this week, you might want to post it on your journal.

Hi

Thanks Aminah, I must tell you that am enjoying myself at World Pulse and learning new thing, meeting wonderful people etc. this is my assignment for this week and I do not know how to tag it nor how or where to post it. Can you please give me directives? I will be very grateful to that.

I hope I am not confusing you :)

As far as I am aware, we are suppose to post on our journal, not to the group journal.
Currently yours seem to appear on the group journal.
I hope someone will correct me if I have got it wrong :)

To post to your journal - hover your mouse over the "MY PULSE" tab on the right corner of the screen.
a drop down box will appear. Click on "My Journal".
That will take you to your individual journal.

When you are on your journal page, you will see the list of posts you have added to it.
And by clicking on the orange tab on the right corner you will be able to add more posts.
Or by clicking on the title of the existing post you will be able to edit it.

You have already tagged the post quite nicely. and it appears to have a link to your profile space.
So maybe it does not really matter at all.

More information on the classroom page.

It's the least I could do dear

I added myself to World Pulse some months back, before VOF.
So have had some experience in navigating from space to space - from individual journal to groups.

So the least I could do is share what I have learned with people who are totally new here.

I always believe in the adage that we should not try to re-invent the wheels.
Someone long ago invented it. What others can do is use their design and create copies or better yet, build on that and build a better wheel. Never re-invent the same wheel :)

Thanks for the collaboration Somaye.
It's always nice to be appreciated :)

Hi Lucy

Thanks for your post =] I just wanted to make sure that you are going to post it in your own journal, because that is one of the instructions and I don't want you to get disqualified or something like that!

If you need any help, go to this link: http://www.worldpulse.com/mypulse/journal
which will take you to your PERSONAL journal. Click the orange button called "Post to Your Journal" and post your writing there, with the tag you used for this one.

As Aminah wrote, it might not matter since you tagged it properly, but just in case! Good luck and keep writing! Thanks for sharing your story~

Hi, Lucy, keep cool

Hi, Lucy, you have enough time yet to transfer this piece or post your assignment to your own My Journal, as directed. So far, I checked and found out that this is still posted in our Group Journal. This is good work that should not go to waste. You can still make it.

Blessings,
