Introducing myself and my journal: Women as the Solution

About Me:
I've worked recently on the issue of women and climate change and have been surprised by the impact and equity issue women are facing with this crisis. The flip side of that coin is that I see women being innovative, creative and active in finding solutions to the challenges their communities face. Women hold unique and valuable places in our communities and it is time for their voices to be a focal point of viable solutions. How might the world be different if a woman could step forward with confidence, without fear of reprisal or shame, and offer her unique vision for her community's future? Women are 70% of the world's poor, do 90% of all household work worldwide and provide community service, often times without pay. We take on tasks others don't want and then coalesce our friends to help us in the process. It's time we had a bigger place at the global table!

My Passions:
kayaking, hiking, poetry, writing, sleeping outside, the ocean, the trees, the desert and more!

My Challenges:
creating a livelihood with heart

My Vision for the Future:
That we all come to a deep understanding that the Earth is a sacred source of replenishment at every level and that we find ways to live sustainably, with social justice and equity.

My Areas of Expertise:
Climate reduction strategies, renewable energy, localized economies, greening your business

Thank you

JoDee,
It is such a joy for me to welcome you to our community. Climate change needs to be addressed more and we are thrilled that you will add your voice on this issue to PulesWire. It's something that affects us all, whether it's the droughts affecting crops in Africa or pollution choking lives in China. On PulseWire, you will find women who have dared to speak out and are making connections crossing oceans, continents, and cultural barriers to change the way we live. Stories are being told, movements are being started and laws are being reformed as lives are transformed. You are now a member of this vibrant community and I look forward to reading more about your passions, ideas, concerns and dreams. I know that you will find this to be a positive experience.

Take a moment to post a picture of yourself, or a symbol that has meaning to you. Also, please browse through our group directory (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups) where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. Or, you may wish to consider starting your own group where you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions. With the group journal, you can brainstorm solutions, pose questions, test ideas and create a support network for your visions.

I look forward to reading more from you. Here, your words will ring out and bring ideas to life. You can empower others who have been hesitant to speak and show them that indeed, together we can find a bigger place for ourselves at the global table. Again, welcome and thank you for joining PulseWire.
