Hooray, another Kiwi! I am so happy you have joined us.

Here, you will find women who have dared to speak out and are making connections crossing oceans, continents, and cultural barriers to change the way we live. Stories are being told, movements are being started and laws are being reformed as lives are transformed. You are now a member of this vibrant community and I look forward to reading more about your passions, ideas, concerns and dreams.

I would love for the community to hear from you about life as a member of the Baha'i community in a country of many nationalities and ethnicities. I encourage to apply for the World Pulse VOF Program. It will connect you with other women around the world speaking out about the issues and concerns in their regions of the world. It becomes an amazing support network of sisters, mentors and friends.

I hope you will consider applying. The world wants to hear your voice.

Kia pai tō rā. With best wishes,
Janice

WOW many thanks everyone

It's lovely to be greeted so warmly. I already feel like a member of this International family and I'm honoured to be here.

Janice,

I want very much to apply for the World Pulse VOF Program, but I'm new here, so I don't know my way around yet or how to actually make the application. Can you please be my tour guide and show me step by step what I need to do.

Erm...... I've just followed your link Janice and discovered that I have already applied. I'd still love a tour guide though.

Happy to give you a tour!

It can be a little overwhelming at first. I encourage you to first go to the Voices Rising page where it chronologically lists the posts by women around the world sharing their ideas, dreams, hopes and visions. At the moment, we have many new members joining like you, which is so exciting. You can distinguish a new member as the title of their post begins with "Introducing myself and my journal".

http://worldpulse.com/pulsewire/voices

To view someone else’s personal journal, click on their username, which will take you to their profile page. Their recent journal posts will be displayed underneath the "Journal" tab. Click on the title to read more.

I encourage you to reach out to other members, or start a dialogue by commenting on another journal entry. Don't be shy! You can also ask a member who has commented on your journal entry or whose post has sparked your interest to be a part of your community.

To do so, find a member whom you wish to add to your "Friends" listing and click on their username. You will be taken to their profile page. Under their photo, click on the "Add to my community" button.

You can then write a personal message inviting them to be your friend. Your message will appear at the top of their pending friends list. They will receive an email, at which point they’ll either "accept" or "deny" the new connection. To check the status of your friend invitations, click on "My Friends" under "My Pulse" on the right side of the screen. Click on the "Edit List" tab where you can view the friend requests you have received, the friend requests you have sent and a listing of your current friends. Click on a friend’s photo for quick access to their profile and journal.

That should give you a quick introduction to the community. If you have any particular interests, let me know and I will try to connect you with members who have similar interests.

Again, welcome. I know that you will find PulseWire to be engaging, inspiring and thought-provoking.
Janice

O WOW!

Many thanks for the guided tour Janice. Here's some more information about me and what holds my interest:

Hello,

I'm Ann Gieskens and I'm passionate about Global Unity that accepts diversity, Women's issues (equality with men), education being available to everyone, freedom of religion and self expression, and eliminating extremes of wealth and poverty. I believe there are spiritual answers to the world's problems, science should go hand in hand with religion, and that religion should bring unity NOT division as it does now.

I'm an active member of the Hastings Baha'i Community and I enjoy being involved and to serve when and where I can. My son is 17 and I'm a solo parent.

I'm a talented writer who loves painting pictures in people's minds with words. I am also in the process of launching my own Creative Computer Graphics and Design Business, called Wings Of Joy Resources.

Are you a nurturer by nature? Solutions-oriented? Do you love to be in service to others? Does the thought of using web 2.0 to form meaningful relationships with women from Cambodia to Peru make your heart soar?

YES!

I am available to serve 24/7 as I spend time working online everyday and I can be reached at any time, day or night.
