Introducing myself and my journal: Spirit of a dancer
My name is Sylvia Nalubega, a Programs Officer at Action for Rural Women's Empowerment (ARUWE), Uganda. I have worked with women for close to five years and youth for 10 years. ARUWE is an N.G.O that has been in community Development work for seven years now, having evolved from Nsangi Rural Development Association (NRDA). ARUWE implements a number of programs including Food & income security, Water hygiene and Sanitation, HIV/AIDS, Rights awareness especially Gender Based Violence and leadership Education and Reproductive health.
In all these interventions, I do have the artistic outlook. From my experience, music and dance is a universal language that all people of different ages, classes, sexes, etc understand. I do lead programs that focus on HIV awareness, leadership, rights, through ARTS.
