Introducing myself and my journal: The Power of communication

About Me:
My name is Gertrude Pswarayi and i am a feminist who advances the rights of women and girls through the use of commuinication tools and communication approaches. I have worked with marginalised and vulnerable women and children at grassroots level. I strongly believe that effective communication and use of Information and Communication Technologies is the missing piece in advancing human rights and other fundamental freedoms.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Journalism and Media studies and i am a journalist by training. I have experience in producing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) materials. I can effectively use Participatory Learning Action tools in addressing developmental and human rights issues.

My Passions:
Developing communication materials

My Challenges:
Using some of the softwares to design communication materials

My Vision for the Future:
A world where women's rights are human rights

My Areas of Expertise:
communication i.e. producing communication materials, writing, editing, advocacy.

Welcome

Gertrude.... Welcome to the PulseWire community. Here, you will find women who have dared to speak out using technology to raise their voice, when they might otherwise be silent. They are making connections crossing oceans, continents, and cultural barriers to change the way they live. Stories are being told, movements are being started and laws are being reformed as lives are transformed. You are now a member of this vibrant community and I look forward to reading more about your ideas and dreams for how collaborative technologies can advance human rights. I know that you will find this to be a positive experience.

Also, please take a moment to browse through our group directory (http://www.worldpulse.com/pulsewire/groups) where you may find a group with similar interests to your own. Or, you may wish to consider starting your own group where you can build a powerful network bringing together PulseWire members with similar visions who want to share ideas or actions. With the group journal, you can brainstorm solutions, pose questions, test ideas and create a support network for your visions.

It is voices such as your own that have transformed lives and I look forward to reading more from you. Again, welcome and thank you for joining PulseWire.
