About Me:
I'm an American from metro Detroit, recently graduated with a BA in English Literature & French. I've worked in online magazine journalism and hope to combine my passion for human rights with media.

I think all feminism starts small. We witness or experience injustice in our own life or communities--and the tyrannies, tiny or extreme, add up. We then connect it to the larger, complicated world. I believe in women forging their own narratives, in life and in writing. So naturally I'm excited to join World Pulse and learn about women's stories and specific issues.

My Passions:
Travel, Human Rights/Gender Justice, Cultures, Writing & Reading, New Media

My Vision for the Future:
So many! But if I were to boil it down: a more just world where all people have opportunity and choices.

Looks like you have much to contribute to this community, especially with your education background and journalism experience! Here are some helpful (I hope) hints I usually share with new members:

You may want to write a journal entry, either pasting your profile into the entry, or writing a short piece on a passion or vision. We would love to hear how you heard about WP, and what drew you to the organization. That way, other WP members can comment or reply.

Explore the WP site to see all the exciting things going on and ways to take action. I have found the quickest way to enter into this community is to click on the "Voices Rising" link, which is under the "PulseWire" tab near the top of the screen. From there you can easily access and read journal entries, and perhaps make a comment in reply. In order to add people to your community, click on the person's name. You will be taken to their profile, and can click on the 'add to my community' link under their photo.

There are other opportunities you personally may want to explore. One is the Voices of Our Future program, either as a participant or as a 'listener'. It is a wonderful way to get involved, and possibly be chosen as one of about 30 women to receive more training, tools, and using media to make your voice and visions heard!
