Women in Chittagong Hill Tracts

The Chittagong Hill Tracts cover an area of 13,295 km. sq. to the southeast of the present state of Bangladesh, and is inhabited by almost 12 indigenous groups, numbering approximately 500,000. These hilly people markedly differ from the Bengali majority community in their racial origin, language, culture, physical appearance, religion, dress, farming methods and practices, (to be edited)
