To Do: Nothing
We are a community of change makers raising our voices and birthing a better world. Lately we've been rising in critical masses---
Standing up on International Women's Day
Creating a dance revolution through One Billion Rising
Raising our voices through World Pulse's Digital Action Campaign on Ending Gender Based Violence
Joining the Girl Rising movement to educate girls worldwide
The Hero Women of Congo's message makes it to the White House
We are the future creating itself in the now.
We all feel the call to create this world that we sense is possible, and so we DO a lot: we organize campaigns, raise awareness, create movements, and so much more.
One thing that we don't talk about is doing nothing. But on my "to do" list, I do well to remember to include "nothing." To create a space in my day to sit.
When I am in that space--the one that looks like "nothing"-- is when I can really feel the feeling of Love.
And it is love that is changing the world.
All we have to do it be a conduit for this love to flow.

Heartfelt Agreement
Carrie-
I whole-heartedly stand with you in this! I had to learn years ago about creating space in my day, my world, my life. We do not hear what is most important until we can silence the inner chatter and the outside noise that clouds our ears. I have found this to be true in my work with children learning to speak.... my mantra is, "the silence is where the miracle happens". Most of the initial sessions are quiet, waiting for the child to respond in some way, verbal or not, and I'm always amazed, watching tiny faces turn from frustrated, to realization, to joy in that few seconds of silent waiting. Isn't that true for us, too? We need to be still. We need to wait. We need the quiet. Because, yes,

Beautiful Michelle!
Yes Michelle! It is when I lay down everything I think I know and become fully available to the moment--to the silence--that I truly KNOW.
"the silence is where the miracle happens" has been true in my experience as well.
Much love to you,
Carrie
