Who better to celebrate than my mother?
She is a woman of great substance.
she has five biological children and fifteen foster children that she has groomed over the years to successful adults. She is always and ever willing to take on children whose parents cannot afford to train and those who lost their parents when we were younger. Amazingly, you can not tell the difference by just observing those that are her biological children from those that are her foster children. she will always treat each one with love that we each need at every particular time/period. On one of her trips to United Kingdom some years ago; a young man walked up to her in the flight and introduced himself. My mum said she apologised to the young man and said, " I cant recall who you are", the man said, "mummy, its not possible for you to know us all but I was among one of your eldest son friends' that comes to your house regularly for mails, I just can't help but come over to thank you for those years". He later approached my mum on arrival and introduced his wife and two kids that were accompanying him on the trip to her. He made her promise to drop by his home to spend a few days before returning back to Nigeria. There was another incidence that took place years ago. A friend of my brothers drop by our home to show my mum his first car. He said he brought the car to my mum to bless( as it was customary in my country for a child to do with his parents). He said as far as he was concerned, my mum was more a mother to him than his biological mum during his growing up years.
To one who bears
the sweetest name
and adds luster
to the same
Long life to her for there's no other
who takes the place
of my DEAR
I LOVE YOU MUMMY- for always been there for us.
Your price is far above the rubies
you give the warmest and sweetest smile
Your presence is like the sunshine on a cold day,
Like the ray of light in times of helplessness
You are God blessing to me.......and us!
Mummy, I celebrate you!!!!
You have made your mark in the sands of time not because you have a good education-which you didn't have but because of your MOTHER'S HEART to every child that needs CARE and SHARE. May I be able to fit into your shoes as an exemplary woman of change in my generation.
