My specific interest is in a well rounded family structure, therefore the target must include women and girls, men and boys. My desire is to assist in creating and environment of equal access and opportunity for all.

Thank you for welcoming me, I look forward to the experience

The Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum was the international theme of International Women's Day 2013. On Saturday March 9th Women and Girls throughout the Islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Converged at the Fountain Wine bar and Restaurant in Lauriston, Carriacou to enjoy an evening of inspiring messages through poetry, song, dance and speeches.

The audience was of a mixed nature regardless of age, religion, social and political class. Attendee's were challenged by the feature speaker Mrs Gloria Philip Smith to aggressively persue the skills an knowledge that will enable them to become competitive in the region and the world at large. Hon. Elvin Nimrod Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs also graced the gathering and in a short message reiterated that the strength and determination of all women must be recognized. He continued on to say that women over the years have made great stride and they must be appreciated for it. The Minister also recommitted the government's commitment to denounce all forms of violence against women and girl.
