Violence aginst women outcry
Just recently in my country, South Africa, we were awakened to a shocking truth that Oscar Pistorius had murdered his girlfriend. What is more devastating is that this kind of violence seems to be on the rise. There has been numberous caes of youth raoing and sometimes also killing aged women, some up to the ages of 90 and beyond. Gang rapes and child rape cases have escalated. Justice through the courts is a good thing but only when 'justice has trully prevailed'. The increase of drugs in my country i think is partly to blame for these abuses. I also belive that our government is not doing enough to fight this. You know sometimes I just feel so powerless when I read about these acts or see them on tv. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed and frustrated not being able to help these victims. I belive I can achieve great things and be that voice of change. Its a sad fact that money gives mobility and it has hindered a lot of work we could have already done, had we had had it.

Welcome!
It is a joy to welcome you to our community. I so applaud the efforts of courageous women like you, who are speaking out for those who have no voice.
I understand how sometimes the evil in this world is overwhelming but know that with your voice, you have the ability to start movements, reform laws and transform lives. On PulseWire, you will find women who have dared to speak out and are making connections across oceans, continents, and cultural barriers to change the way we live. You are now a member of this vibrant community and I look forward to reading more about your passions, ideas, concerns and dreams for South Africa.
Again, welcome.
Welcome
It is truly my pleasure to be a new member of this movement. I shall be able to grow, learn and truly understand how to effectively (with skill) be the voice of the voiceless

Your voice is vital to raising awareness of what is happening in South Africa. I encourage you to apply for the World Pulse Voices of Our Future Program. It will enhance your skills as an activist but more importantly, will connect you with other women leaders around the world demanding justice for women and girls. It becomes an amazing support network of grassroots women activists, mentors and editors.
I used to work at World Pulse and have seen first-hand how much each person's writing skills develop, their confidence grows and how many go on to have their articles picked up by international media such as the BBC and CNN.
I hope you will consider applying (see link below). The world needs to hear your voice.
