The (huge) power of hope

I have been reading the post of women from everywhere… brave stories of life … so much pain but at the same time, I found also so much courage in all of them, because for me, when people talk or write about pain, it is because they are already searching for some way to get out of the violence around us.

Yesterday, after pursuing him for a day, I finally get a quick interview with Lech Walesa, the former president of Poland and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983.

I asked him for his view about our actual world situation, and it was a big surprise to me, to find that he has so much hope on our generation, and also in the “women’s power” to lead a change.

In some way, I understand his positivism, because actually his movement against the URSS started just with a group of people “fighting peaceful” for their rights, but they are surrounded by a powerful army.

Today, people like him could remember us that every fight for justice could be different among the countries, or even among the time… but finally, they are equal in the spirit… WE HAVE to front our fears, and we have to walk to our dream.

We have to be able to see the troubles, but most of all (most of all) we have to be able to see the solutions, or, at least, to dare to search for them

Kind regards to all of you from Mexico. Xthina " )

confront our fears, walk our dreams

Welcome to PulseWire, Xthina. Your words are a true inspiration. Would you mind sharing more of your interview with Lech Walesa?

Hi Lisa !

Of course ! I will when i publish the interview in Peace Correspondent ( in March) ... at the beggining I think it will be only in spanish, but actually President Walesa asked me for the translation, so ... surely when I finish the translation I can publish it here as well ...

Kind regards, and ... keep walking Lisa .... just keep walking we are going to arrive to a better place, I am sure of that !

IT is strengthening

to note that someone of such prominence and fame has such an optimistic view point. :)

Also, I've heard it said that the Millenialist Generation will bring about hope and change that has not been seen in a very long time. That would be us. Let's make the most of it.

Right !

I also do believe in that ... which means: I DO BELIEVE IN US ... in plural ... together, working for our home: The Earth

Xthina.... this is it... this is it. The spirit and the struggle the same. You met Lech Walesa.. please someone make that happen to me. Everyday I see parallels with the Polish experience.....and Kenya.. and hope and there you go. I had a brutal experience with police beating me for reminding them that 10 million Kenyans are starving. I was not out of turn or unrully but for this I took a very sore neck to hospital and much trauma... For they do not see what fills the mind of a woman when she speaks up and yells for the pain of a million voiceless people. For they do not see the dream and when we walk to it they fear. For my friends fear for me and my family when I confront our fears.. and it is our fears that hedge us into tribalism. So My sister as I quickly share this.... as I share it quickly cos some other colleague I hear has been arrested, a man. I ask you to keep on making the struggle for justice seen as global. And hope:

Darwish says he, but almost alWAYS IT IS HER....;
(A palestinian poet)

And they asked him:
Why do you sing?
And he answered, as they seized him:
I sing because I sing…

And they searched his chest
But could only find his heart
And they searched his heart
But could only find his people
And they searched his voice
But could only find his grief
And they searched his grief
But could only find his prison
And they searched his prison
But could only see themselves in chains

From Poem Of The Land, Mahmoud Darwish
(Written to commemorate five Palestinian girls killed by the Israelis, March 30, 1976, at a demonstration to protest Israeli seizures of Arab land).

The spirit its the same, of course

Hi Philo !!

Well ... I have some press contacts of President Walesa, I could share it to you if you want... maybe you can try to met him and maybe you will do it if you really want and fight (in a good sense, of course :-) for it.

Of course there are many similar things among the polish experience and other places (Kenya as well, Im sure, even I do not have the enough knowledge ...)

The little-BIG secret is to learn that ... we never give up when we are sure that our demands are for dignity and justice... and we have to remember ALWAYS that violence never ends with more violence, dont you think so?!

Sweet regards from Mexico.... (write me an e-mail if you want the contacts, it will be my pleasure to share it with you... that's the reason we are in here, isnt ?! to share .... to share its the key word in the new word :-)

Take care and GO AHEAD ....for Kenya and yourlself .... Xthina " )
