Introducing myself and my journal: Hope Beyond Today
About Me:
I am a beautiful 36 year old married mother of 6, 5 alive. Am trained as a journalist but above all, I have a heart full of love for anyone female. I have a burning passion for the needy and less privileged in society, not because I have much, since I got nothing, but because I have been through a lot of suffering all my life, as a young girl and even as a mother. It is with this in mind that I set up the Centre for Disadvantaged Girls. Ours is a haven where women come for solace, and where they can not only dream again, but also nurture their dreams to fruition.
My Passions:
Community Development, Education, Health and Women Empowerment.
My Challenges:
My biggest challenge to date has been getting the necessary funding for my Centre.
My Vision for the Future:
I envision a future where women don't have to walk tens of kilometres to fetch a few litres of water, a future where women will be given equal rights to education and leadership posts as men, where our kids don't die for lack of food and medical attention
My Areas of Expertise:
Am a trained journalist, though I have been privileged to ammass project management skills too.

Thanks a lot for your interest in our Centre. Ours is a place where the hopeless regain hope by being empowered financially, educationally and/or with skills for social enterprise. We work with girls and women from the poorest of the poor backgrounds willing to take charge of their lives by embracing change through acquiring skills for development. Feel free to ask for an attachment of everything you'd like to know about us. Once again, I thank you on nehalf of the CDG community.
