War and the source of violence of all kinds in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo

Hello my friends!
Until today, the population of Goma did not know that the M23 and our soldiers would begin to turn to harassment in a terrible way. They delight in the little that they have and the belief that they are bringing peace. When will the harassment end? Once again women are being raped. In the Eastern DRC we live every day in fear. Our Congo has many mineral riches that have not yet been monetized; but mothers and their children live in poverty, in fear of rape, every day losing their sons and husbands to a never-ending war. We are brutalized by soldiers of Satan. We are tired of this.
“We have had enough. We ask our community at WorldPulse to take measures to ensure real peace in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.”

This story was written for World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

Merci beaucoup

Ton amie,
Bridgette
