VIOLATION OF THE RIGHT OF THE WOMAN
We women, are penalized in services as compared to men. For promotions, they begin with the men.
We women wonder if we are not competent in the services: We want women to have same rights and benefits like the men because we are also humans.

This story was written for World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

Fully Competent & Deserving

Hi Mweze,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You very much deserve the equal rights of your male neighbors, keep speaking up and never think for a moment that you are not competent. I just heard the song Amendment today by the musician Ani Difranco, the lyrics keep showing up in my mind ... "Life is sacred, life is also profane, a woman's life must be hers to name. Let an amendment put this brutal game to rest, trust, women will still take you to their breast, trust, women will always do their best, trust, our differences make us stronger, not less."
Much love,
Heidi

Salut Mweze,
Beaucoup d'amour,
Heidi

Thank you for sharing this story, Mweze. If only people know that God created women as partners of men, then inequality and unfairness should never happen at work, in school, in church or in government. They should not be threatened because we are here to support them and lend them a hand to achieve common goals.

Men should realize that women are also human beings who have feelings, hopes, dreams and fears. They too have mothers who gave life to them and for this, they should respect and honor them. If they could do that to their mothers, then they should know how to respect and honor other women as well.
