Introducing myself and my journal: Nepali generation

About Me:
Projects Director, Today’s Youth Asia

Mandira Raut is the Projects Director of Today’s Youth Asia (TYA). She is the Producer for TYA TV show that promotes youth activism, ethics, empowerment and change. She joined Today’s Youth Asia in 2003 as a trainee of School Representative Media Training (SRMT) project.

She has participated in the Indigo Humanities Week 2007 in South Korea, participated in “Conflict Resolution” workshop with women leaders on utilizing UNSC 1325 in Nepal organized by JBK Institute for Peace & Justice (University of San Diego) in 2007, she was the youth speaker at ‘Women Building Peace’ organized by International Women’s Association of Radio & Television (IWART) in 2007, she participated in the ‘International Visitor Leadership Program’ of U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs in 2009, and she was a speaker at the ‘Indigo Youth Book Fair 2010’ in South Korea.

What made you become an activist? It sounds like you have a lot of experience and dedication. You were a part of Indigo Humanities Week? That's really cool - my background is Korean, but I was born and grew up in Portland, Oregon.

Nepal's Top 7 Debaters

I am working as Producer of reality Television Show Nepal's Top 7 Debaters, weekly debate show broadcasted on Government owned channel NTV PLUS, Friday 8pm.

I am very happy to share 7 out of 2012 winners 6 are girls. Right now i am working on 2013 season 2.

I am also launching Nepal's Top 7 Young Poets for August 2013.
