Mothers have a right to be trained in French

Congolese mothers thirst to be trained in French here at home, but sadly the trainers are rare because there is no incentive to train us. We often say our country is French speaking, if you consider that 40 percent of the moms are trained in French and 60 percent are not trained at all. We ask the highest authority in the country to truly take care of the Congolese mothers so that we can speak French like all the other mothers in French speaking countries instead of putting mothers to the side or seeing them as people of little value, even though women are more courageous than men.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

This is important

Dear Hamisi,

Thank you very much for writing. You raise a very good and important point. In order for women to be empowered, they need to be included in the language, for a start! I hope that you are able to bring others to you to make a group and perhaps make an online petition for this cause. Please keep standing up for what you believe in. It is people like you that will help to bring change forward.

All my best,

Laura R.

Women's Education

Dear Hamisi,

Your article raises an important subject for raising the equality of women worldwide: access to education. In the case of women, study after study proves that when women are educated, their families benefit neatly.

You raise the specific issue of language education. Certainly, in order to continue to advocate for themselves and their sisters, Congolese women must obtain the communication skills to advocate strongly. In this case, they need to learn French to be heard.

Thank you for raising your voice.

Your sister in California,

Jan Askin

Dear Hamisi, Thank you for

Dear Hamisi,

Thank you for sharing your story and for your efforts in helping to empower women. I wonder what would need to be done to allow women to learn French (or anything else they wanted to learn)? Are women allowed to go to school? Is it possible to start with a small group and train them; maybe they can learn enough to train others?

Please continue to write and share and engage other women. One woman at a time....

In peace,
