Problem of girls in rural areas

Good morning, I wanted to tell you about some girls who leave the villages to come and work in towns because living conditions in the villages are impossible. They are obliged to abandon their habitats to go looking for life in another.Their parents force them to get married even if they are still very young , there, there are many premature marriages and most of their spouses are unfaithful, so they really suffer.

This story was written for World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

its life

hello i can not blame the girls, situations in life force us to take risks.
the only problem is you can not know or understand the magnitude of things you will face
dire situations at home have seen girls in my village marry, with the hope that may be, just may be when they start their own families things may be better, some have been lucky others not so.

i wish your government would take a more pro action towards females, say policies like education,
in tradiitional settings i think to give an awareness which education can bring is important,
you people have take up on your own to see to it other wise it will continue.

still its sad and disheartening

i hope things turn for the better

Same here...

Hello Aminalydia,
I read in a UN report earlier this year that the most cited reason for teen pregnancy in Paraguay (where I'm from) was economic safety. That is, teens get pregnant (often by older men) in order to ensure marriage and escape the miring poverty that they're sure to experience in their home villages.

I am curious if this also happens where you are. Are these girls you mention running away to cities to get married? Or are they running away in order to avoid being married? I would love to hear more about their lives.

Thank you for your post and please keep at it!
