Quel Dommage

Thank you for bringing our attention to this terrible act of violence. I am so sorry about what is happening to the women in your community. The courage you show in sharing these experiences is already helping--now the whole world is aware of what is going on, and we must act to help. Please check the Sharing Solutions page for some ideas on what we can do.

thank you for bringing this up

Raising public awareness is the first step to a change and, therefore, it is important to speak up. Our goal should be to stop violence against women in every instance because every single human's suffering is our community's suffering.Evil has lots of faces and only our combined effort can bring more good into this world! Stay safe!

And now we turn to action

Sibatu,

I have now signed several petitions to the UN and written individuals whose aim is to protect women's rights and relayed your story. Women can not and should not be the victims of others war plans. Women are not afforded enough protection in war situations and need to have their safety assured in some way. Thank you for letting us know about the situation, now hopefully voices will be heard.

“Women have a special capacity to lead us to a more peaceful world with compassion, affection and kindness. And there is no more important time for that than this moment.” - Dalai Lama
