My Life Story
My name is Sibatu Nkwana. I am the mother of three children, two girls and one boy. I live in Bakavu. I am a dressmaker but I need a sewing machine to sew clothes. Dear friends at World Pulse, I am asking you to help me with sewing machines to help me in my work. Most women in Bukavu sew very well, but we don't have sewing machines. I had one sewing machine in my workshop; unfortunately, it was stolen. I am not able to feed my children or even to pay their fees; they are starting to be thrown out of school. My husband does not have work. Life is getting harder and harder. I beg you to to help me, to better my socioeconomic condition of life.

Hoping for a positive response,
Sincerely yours,

Chère Sibatu Nkwana,

Merci d’avoir partagé votre histoire avec World Pulse.

Sibatu,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. I trust that as your situation becomes known, that a solution will be found. Economic empowerment for women is critical for women to be safe and free. May you and your family be safe.

In peace,

Sewing

Sibatu,
I'm sure you are a beautiful seamstress. I wish I could help you with your need for a sewing machine but cannot. Are there locally based NGOs in Bukavu that might be able to assist you and your family so you can become more financially stable?
Good luck,
Shelley
