We praise this WORLD PULSE voice initiative that is based on the idea that there is an unexploited world of knowledge out there.

Thank you for having founded the Wa Mama Shujaa Association (WS) which trains leading women to open our region to the world. I would like to pay homage to the initiators of this project so that we can share what we know and can now tell to my sister, my mother, and my brother at the other side of the world. By connecting me to internet, they opened the door not only to a woman’s world but also to 7 billion neighbors.

Thanks through this connection, the WS Association gave me the opportunity to emerge from the shadows, from my demeaning and somewhat blind culture. When I access the website, internet opens my mouth, my heart, and my spirit. Now I can express myself, voice my grievances, lighten up, cry foul, and call out discrimination knowing that someone in the world is listening to me and might even console me.

Less than five years ago, my sister was forced to divorce, she was deprived of all her belongings by her husband and she was kicked out of her house after she developed paralysis caused by a cerebrovascular accident. Now I have the courage to scream and I know that there is someone who is listening to me and with whom I can find solutions.

Browsing for a few minutes costs 1,500 Congolese francs (1.50 US dollars) per hour. This sum could help a mom who lives from day to day to get just 2 kilos (4.5 pounds) of corn flour for the survival of her family.

I cannot find enough words to praise the initiators of this project and the courageous women for this Wa Mama Shujaa initiative and the sacrifice they are making to connect us, to allow us to be in touch with our sisters and our brothers from all over the world for free.

Once again, thank you so much and may this World Pulse solidarity live forever!!

jade

Hello and Listening in California

Wakenge,
I am glad you are able to access the internet and have your voice heard. I am very sorry to hear about what happened to your sister. Hopefully you are able to search the many websites that have helpful info and products for cerebrovascular.

You story and the many others listed on World Pulse are shining a spot light on the injustices around the world. Please continue to share your experiences with the world to help find a cure or give other people courage to share their experiences.

Sincerely,
Justin Cambra
