A Pueblo Prayer

To All World Pulse Members, a Pueblo Prayer to guide you on your way. (Pueblos are a Native American Tribe, once called American Indians).

Hold on to what is good, even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe, even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do, even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life, even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand, even if I've gone away from you.

With Respect,

Interfaith Reverend Sarah

Thank you.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for sharing these words of encouragement. It's a beautiful reminder to not just persevere, but to find strength and comfort in the things around us -- the things that are consistent even when our lives are in flux.

I wish you the best!

we love poetry

I love poetry and am so glad you shared this.

In my American Literature classes we have studied Native American literature, short stories and poetry. The literary traditions of native american tribes are diverse and it can be difficult to appreciate the depth of literature with which you are less familiar. Poetry, however, effortlessly crosses across cultural boarders.

Reading poetry from other cultures and parts of the world has shown me that all cultures share certain values, ideas, and images of peace and love; poetry has the power to unite all people around a shared human experience. Ahh, the power of language. What an incredible invention!

Thanks!

Love to you, too!

Dear Hannah,

Thank you for your thoughtful response and for expressing how poetry can cross borders that other literary forms often cannot.

I have found a certain resonant, accessible beauty in Native American prayers and spiritual poems. Deeply touching!

So, love and support to you, and may we each continue to find profound and moving poetry!

I will!

Thank you, Pushpa! I will post another lovely Interfaith message right now! This is certainly for all the women on World Pulse who are struggling with mistreatment in their countries or are helping others or both :

Let your light shine.
Be a source of strength and courage.
Share your wisdom.
Radiate love.
