The condition of women should be protected by heads of families and governments. Especially men who do not respect the human creation – although women are the ones who allow a family, a nation or a country to develop and grow. Without women, the world could become a place with no human value. But here in Congo, we can see that if a woman gets a position, men start complaining and say that men who give positions to women are ignorant. And they criticize a lot people who hire women.

This story was written for World Pulse’s Ending Violence Against Women Digital Action Campaign.

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

Dear

This is common in every where. Men think they are superior to everything and they do this every where. This is what we need to change-visions, perceptions and mentality. Only then we will achieve what we really want ..

Thank you for speaking out.

Hamisi,

Thank you for speaking out. Through your voice we can learn more about the status of women in the developing world and seek ways to address such oppression. With your voice, you can inform millions of women about your situation and allow us to communicate with each other to offer assistance and possible solutions. Women around the world are not treated equally and it is time that our voices are heard. I look forward to hearing more from you.

“Women have a special capacity to lead us to a more peaceful world with compassion, affection and kindness. And there is no more important time for that than this moment.” - Dalai Lama
