On the international map, the international community together with the Congolese government must find lasting solutions to end the war in Eastern DRC that causes sexual violences with Congolese women. On the social map, we must seek socio-economic integration of raped women through income projects. For example: Micro-credit grants. Support mental health of raped women in Shabunda. We need social and economic support of children orphaned from the war in the Shabunda territory, for example, the creation of revenue-generating jobs.
Also, next time I want to send you a conceptual note of a project.

Salut

Salut Mambo,

Habitez-vous aussi a Shabunda? Connaissez-vous des victimes de la guerre? Montrez-nous un peu de ce projet que vous mentionnez.

hello

what you have mentioned is right, the women victims and all war victims need a psycho-social-economic support at the end of this war. how and where do you think this exercise should start.. in many a case i would think that first should be you the community and then engaged the government before the international community steps in..
setting up shelters to help with the mental state is one of the things towards a positive direction.. this may take long and what the communities are left with is counseling each other, moral support from friends and relatives and from victims and survivor victims.. its worth a try cause you never know when the government or international community will step in.
bye and take care

Dear Mambo,

Yes, it is time to end the violence against the women and children in the Eastern DRC. The healing needed for the women & children to recover and rebuild their lives does require a comprehensive approach, beginning with the most essential needs. Mental, physical and economic healing are needed.

Are you a part of a community group or organization to apply for micro-credit loans? I agree to empower the women with financial means to survive and create community based programs which directly services the women & children is essential. Your VOICE and VISION begins the process. Please know that we stand alongside you and the women and children of the Eastern DRC.

Stay strong and safe, as you help raise awareness and action for the women and children.

Linda

With Gratitude,

Linda M. Ando
