Morning,

Here in Eastern Congo, normally in Nindja, violence is rampant. I know a family who went through this tribulation not too long ago. The parents and their children were eating at night when three young men came. One of them forced the older son to rape his mother in the presence of his father and his younger brothers. Likewise, the father had to rape his young daughter in front of everyone. Then, the young men took the father to an unknown location. The mother fell and died. To date, the children live miserably without any aid.

Here is how we live!

Thank you my friends.

Hope

Kabene,

I am so, so sorry that you have to live in such fear. It brings tears to my eyes to imagine the trepidation with which you face each day. I know that it must be hard to stay strong, to believe in the goodness of humanity, considering your situation, but please try to remember that there are people out here thinking of you and wishing you the best. Again, my heart goes out to you and your family. Please be safe.

Sincerely,
Nicole
