There is a friend who lived with her husband at the end of the village. While in route to farm the land, the husband was cornered by men in uniforms who were armed. These men kidnapped him to an unknown destination. This couple had three children. For the moment, the wife is with her children and she suffers tremendously. Her landlord has chased her out of her house. She now lives at the church. For work, she carries heavy bundles so that her children can eat and because of her work, her health has now deteriorated.

Stay Strong

Your friend is very lucky to have a wonderful friend who is sharing her story. Many times we don’t have control over circumstances, and we often wonder why certain things happen. Our hopes and prayers are that your friend’s husband and the 3 children’s father returns home safely. Please stay strong for her.

violence takes many forms

Thank you for sharing the story of your friend. It is so important to remember that women suffer from violence in their communities not just when women themselves are beaten, raped or otherwise, but also when their family members, including husbands, are victims of violence. I hope that her community is able and willing to help her and her children in some way, and that someday her husband will be returned to her.

Stop the violence

Dear Sibatu, Thank you for sharing this story. However i would want to know more about the situation. Was this man a political figure why was he kidnapped by men in armed clothes. Is there any organisation in your country that provides legal aid to such people. This is a very tragic incident for the family of this man. Are there non-governmental organisations that can provide assistance in your country. Please continue to bring such stories like this to light so that we can help you advocate on the international scene. I stand with you and may the almighty God give you strength to voice these stories of women who are being violated. God bless you.
