Women strongly urge to stop the wave of violence against women and children
Women gathered to protest against the current spate of incidents of violence against women and children in Sri Lanka. The protest was organised by Women for Women. The protest was held at Lipton Circus on 20th July 2012. Women demanded the authorities to take immediate action and bring the perpetrators to justice, rather than making inappropriate comments!

World Pulse believes that women's stories, recommendations, and collective rising leadership can—and will—bring an end to gender-based violence. The EVAW Campaign elicits powerful content from women on the ground, strengthens their confidence as vocal grassroots leaders, and ensures that influencers and powerful institutions hear their stories.

Wow
These are some powerful images and messages. Thank you so much for sharing them!
Great !
Indeed these issues need to get more importance. Salute to those who are doing this..keep this protest on going!
Keep raising your voices!
Getting our voices heard is incredibly important to raise awareness on a issue, get people together and start changing our socila and cultural context. Also images can help deliver a stronger message and I was wondering if you have been circulating those pictures around (even using social network like Facebook and Twitter). The more people they see it, the better!
Great work!

Great messages in powerful images
Thank you so much for making us aware of the brave actions of women in Sri Lanka. The images are certainly powerful and I hope you have opportunities to share them in other media. Perhaps a bit of a photo journal with textual supplement to some of the pictures would tell an even more powerful story.
Thank you for this important work!
