A Bad Souvenir
Back here at home, there is a mother who was married but her husband sold his house leaving the woman alone with nothing to take care of the children. These children suffered on the street with their mother’s pregnancy without support from anywhere. Her senior sister pitied the junior sister taking care of her and her children for seven years without the husband giving a helping hand, not even in paying of the fees or giving food to his family.
It was her elder sister with her miserable life of everyday, who took care single handedly. But unfortunately, her husband got married for the second time without knowing the rights of his wife and the children. The abandoned woman went to court for the judgment of their separation and of this abuse of this woman’s rights and that of the children, unfortunately, no answer for this woman. That is today’s justice in DR of Congo. Thanks.

Abandoned
This an unfortunate story. I sympathize with this woman and others like her. This is the reason we need to empower women. This can be done through educating women with skills that enable them to take care of their family.

Keep Your Hope Going
What is wrong with these guys! Thank you for telling me your story. Hopefully spreading the word about this will lead to education for the women in Congo so that they can learn to take care of themselves and not be dependent on their husbands. I know they will have to take baby steps to start learning how to take care of themselves, just know there is lots of women out there who are praying for them to succeed.

Dear Nita
What a difficult situation. I feel so strongly for the women and children involved. It is maddening that the women and her children are not protected and supported in these circumstances, nor given the hope to support themselves. It is humbling reading about the struggles of women in the DRC. Thank you for sharing and bringing this story to us.
A heart-felt thank you,
Hannah
