how to recommend rewriting

Hi Scott, how do we handle the edit if we receive an article that is sort-of off base and needs to be rewritten? Do we pass it along with simply a critique or ask the writer to re-write? Thanks, Scott.

Great question

Great question, William!

In general the role of the Listener is not to be an editor--so you can put away the red ink pens. But, if something is not clear to you then you should feel comfortable asking a question, for example "I wasn't sure what you meant by _____, could you explain?" Or, you could encourage the person to elaborate on something that is laying just below the surface.

Remember though, VOICE is the key essence of what you're supporting, and this will come in many forms.

Does that answer your question? Does it make sense?

Tomorrow when we announce the launch of the Campaign you'll see the full description of the submission guidelines, and that should help answer your question a little bit more as well.

Thanks!
Scott

Hello & Reach Out

Dear Listeners,

Hello, and how wonderful it was to hear your energetic voices and wonderful qualifications on our call yesterday! Two women mentioned living in Florida, as I now do. Could you re-identify yourselves to me? Thank you!

Also, if any Listeners will be attending the World Pulse Live event at NYU on 9/21, please also look for me there if the spirit moves you; I'd love to meet you.

And Scott, I requested membership on this EVAW site, but I don't appear on the Group Members page . . .please let me know if I need to re-apply.

May The Force Be With You All,

- Sarah

Hi Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I've added you to the Group, so you're set to receive updates now.

Also, one of the Listeners, Sai Kiran in Toronto, posted that she will be at the NYU event (http://worldpulse.com/node/57526)! It's so great that you two will meet in person-- be sure to report back on that, with a photo maybe?

Thanks for being a part of this group,
Scott
