Merci.

Violence Against Women.
Here, rape is almost at all levels.
In some services there are often bosses who rape female workers.
They make job adverts stating that female candidates are highly desired. But after all the exams, women are recruited according the vacant posts. Before the month runs out these bosses start wooing these women before they receive their salaries. If one accepts despite herself, she will maintain the job. The one who refuses, the boss looks for a motive to send her away. There are some of the bosses who program field work but their aim is to have the woman. He would reserve just one room whereas he is with a female worker. In the evening, he goes for a stroll with the key of the room, with the door closed but not keyed. In the night he allows the woman to sleep first and around midnight, he enters the room and locks the door of the room with the key. He now rapes the woman who is afraid to shout because the boss can kill her.

Others leave the woman in the room if she refuses categorically but along the road, at an area where there is insecurity, where one can go for 10km without meeting people or may be meet only armed men, he forces the lady to alight leaving her there or to accept to sleep with him. In this latter condition, I have never heard that someone refused, or may be just one and she was raped and killed on the spot. These ladies who accept along the road, when they get to town, they often abscond the work. These women cannot say this publicly because she will be killed the same day.
Thank you

c'est dommage

Bonjour Mme Kusinza,

rape all too common

Dear Kusinza,
Thank you for sharing your tragic story. I hadn't heard of this before and am shocked at the power to live above the law and morally right that men seem to think is all right. This treatment must be brought to the notice of the U.N. and quickly. Men must be held responsible for this type of action, imprisoned for lenghty times. Your roaming soldiers must fall under the same laws and punishment. Please, safely get this information to some Agency who will carry your story to the authorities. May God bless and protect you.

Tragic

It's unfortunate that these events are common and continue to occur with limited or no consequences. Your voice on this topic is a response to such horrific actions, so thank you for raising awareness to this issue. Please continue to communicate these stories, and encourage others to voice their concerns and share their stories. As the previous comments suggest, notice from many victims and/or those concerned to the appropriate Agency will hopefully tip the scales towards action to hold those accountable.
